Benefits of an Acupuncture Face Lift from Dr. Liu
The Acupuncture
Face Lift An alternative to facial wrinkles without surgery.
Not so long ago, patients with unwanted facial wrinkles and sags had only
one or two choices beyond the cosmetic counter: the dermatologist or the
plastic surgeon. |
But recently an alternative technique was developed: the Acupuncture
Facelift.
What can I expect it to do?
The Acupuncture face-lift, performed at
Dr. Liu's office can take years of stress out of your face!
Deep lines can be made less apparent, and fine lines can be made to virtually
disappear! By toning the underlying muscles, sagging skin will be uplifted and
the face takes on a more youthful contour.
How does it work?
Wrinkles are not just skin deep: they are affected by 22 muscles underlying the
skin on each side of the face. When these muscles are over contracted, such as
around the lips and eyebrows, the Acupuncture treatment relaxes the involved
muscle groups, easing tension and smoothing the skin.
Are there any side effects?
No. This cannot be said for other aggressive treatments. Collagen and fat
injections may cause allergic reactions to the injected protein. Chemical peels
may cause local sensitivity, mechanical dermabrasion and unwanted scarring.
Botox may cause headaches and paralysis. Lastly, surgery can lead to wound break
down resulting in infection and an expression of permanent surprise. Surgery has
also been associated with progressive neurological damage with each successive
procedure. The acupuncture face-lift offers no side effects or risk.
How long until
you see results?
Results can be seen after the first treatment,
however you will probably begin to notice lasting results by the third or fourth
visit.
How often should sessions be?
First month: two sessions per week. Second month: one session per week. Third
month: one session every two weeks. After third month: one session a month.
How long does a treatment take?
Approximately one hour.
Is it permanent?
No. But neither are collagen injections, Botox injections or surgery. Because
Dr. Liu's treatment is non-invasive, the infrequent follow-up visits after the
initial 10 to 16 sessions are easily tolerated and usually enjoyed!
Does it hurt?
No. Some people will notice a few
tingles but it disappears in a few seconds.
How long do I need to recover from the treatment?
You can continue your normal schedule
immediately. There are no black and blue, redness or color changes of the skin.
